Pier Rynbäck has his roots in Swedish Lapland and sport fishing is in his genes. From a young age, he has been fishing in the mountains around Kiruna and along the shores of the Kaitum River, which has shaped his entire lifestyle. Fly fishing was the natural choice for him from an early age, laying the foundation for his interest in ecology. He has a deep respect for the environment and sustainable fishing, always striving to preserve fish stocks and their habitats. As a youth, he grew up in the coastal region of Norrbotten, where his passion for fishing developed. His fishing followed the seasons, leading to a great deal of knowledge in many different fishing techniques. Today, he lives in the coastal town of Luleå and holds predator fishing, particularly pike fishing, closest to his heart. Northern Norrland boasts many river systems, lakes, and tributaries that flow into a stunning coastal area, making it a attractive destination for sport fishing tourists. Early ice formation and a late spring mean that the open-water season is very short, but being able to live and practice his sport fishing in such an untouched environment is something he considers a privilege.
