Andrew Black is a passionate and successful angler, who has been fishing all his life for various species, but now he specialises in all things predator! He travels all around the UK and Europe for his predator fishing fix. He can often be found jigging for zander on tidal rivers, ledgering for pike on the Fens, chucking lures on the wild Scottish waters, flicking pike flies on the Irish Lochs, or even catching bass and pollock in the sea. A lure angler at heart, there is nothing he likes better then casting lures for pike or zander, but he is equally at home dead baiting for them, or even beach-casting for rays and smooth hounds. He is also an accomplished writer, and has a scientific background in fisheries, currently holding both a Diploma and a BSc Hons Degree in Fisheries Science. He works in the fisheries industry and is a regular contributor to various coarse and predator fishing magazines and has a weekly page in Anglers Mail. Pike are probably his favourite fish and he has currently caught over 250 twenty pound pike with no fewer than twenty three fish over the magical 30lb mark with a personal best of 35lb 8oz. Zander are also on his hit list and he is currently the only angler in the UK to have caught two 18lb + Zander from different waters with his personal best being a massive 19lb 14oz. Andy owns the record for UKs largest brace of zander with two spectacular fish of 18lbs 6oz and 19lbs 14oz respectively, thank you shadteez! He is also no stranger to big perch having caught numerous fish over 4lbs and has a stunning UK PB of 5lb 1oz.
